Paths of Short Film Criticism
This lecture proposes a reflection on the specificities of film criticism focused on short films, considering their unique formats and narrative strategies. It will address analytical methodologies, evaluation criteria, and challenges in writing critical essays for short works, as well as the role of festivals, curatorial work, and the circulation of these films in building critical repertoires, discussing possible ways to broaden the visibility and depth of criticism dedicated to short films.

Juliano Gomes
Critic and professor at FAAP (São Paulo). Editor of Cinética Magazine. Published in Film Quarterly, World Records Journal, Filme&Cultura, Folha, Piauí. Programmed at the Sheffield Doc Fest (England, 2020) and since 2024 has co-programmed the Tiradentes Film Festival. Organized the book "Thomas Farkas, Todomundo", winner of the 2025 Jabuti Prize. Master's degree in Communication (UFRJ). Directed with Léo Bittencourt "As Ondas" (2016), "..." (2007) and the short film "Nada haver" (2022). Hosts the podcast "Rascunho Ambiente".

Uruguayan journalist and film critic, secretary of the ACCU and Golden Globe voter. She has served on FIPRESCI juries and works at festivals and in the international press.
